I am a story teller and my works are three dimensional illustrations. The stories I am drawn to are about the relationships that we have to each other, our cultures and our shared histories.
I am fascinated by jewelry and household items because they are objects of intimacy. I make vessels, reliquaries and jewelry because I want my work to be handled.
The things we own help to define us and we do the same for them. There are secrets, emotions, and habits of ritual, that are manifested in the tenderness we extend to our keepsakes. I treasure the preciousness of ordinary things, the way objects patina with use and evolve to fit their owners. I want my work to honor how objects and structures become imprinted with the marks of human life.
